How’s your new year going so far? For many of us, the rush of post-holiday chores (and challenges) might have you a little flustered. We often think that come January 1st, some sort of imaginary light switch can be flicked in order to initiate change in all aspects of our lives — whether that’s related to diet, exercise, mindfulness or other habits that affect us on a daily basis. Sadly, that light switch doesn’t exist. But that can be turned into good news when we remember we have every minute of every day to get it right. “Step by step” as it were. So be gentle with yourself. But don’t give up on your goals. You are worth it. And you are amazing!
I recently happened upon this meme from Robin Sharma that serves as a good reminder for us all.
Too often, when thinking about goals or embarking on a diet or healthy eating plan, we think about how fabulous we will be — as opposed to how amazing we are in the moment. Fact is, the more we believe in ourselves and our worth, the better chance we have of achieving any goal we set for ourselves (whether having to do with losing weight, getting healthier, getting ahead in our careers, strengthening relationships or whatever).
This doesn’t mean we can’t aspire to be more, do more and have more. But the more we remind ourselves of our true fabulosity (even in this very moment), the more momentum we’ll have. So take a minute today (and everyday) to read this and other positive memes that can remind you how important you are to the planet. There’s only one you. And yes, you are amazing. Believe it.

Don’t take this image the wrong way. Muffin tops are beautiful. Heck, muffins themselves are beautiful. Every body is beautiful – exactly as it is right in this moment. You can be sure of that (and anyone who tells you different is full of crap).
But that being said, there are many of us who want to make healthy changes that can help us to not only feel better, but to also put on our clothes without having to hold our breath or offer up a prayer for strength (literally) when zipping up.
This can require making choices a little differently than we have in the past. Like choosing water over cake for example. Not always. But often. Changes like this remind us that cake is a treat (as opposed to an everyday requirement). We can’t say the same for water, which is absolutely necessary for our survival and for our transformation.
So without shaming yourself (which is never productive), ask yourself what you really want next time you’re tempted by something sweet (that might add a few too many calories or artificial ingredients to your daily intake). Maybe a glass of water and vigorous walk is what your body, mind and soul are really craving. If so, give your body that. And if you absolutely must have the cake (and I’ll admit there are times that’s true), then have a reasonable slice – and then have a glass of water and go for a vigorous walk. (See what I did there?)
It’s all about balance, moderation and your overall goals. And you, my amazing, beautiful friend, are worth it!
Much like me, haven’t you always known, on some deeper level, that you really do embody everything you need — already inside of you — to achieve lasting physical health and a peaceful, happy state of mind (in relation to eating, your body weight and to everything else) you have always dreamed of?
And also like me, I imagine many of you know that nagging feeling that if you just had that one secret to unlock the door to your own innate healing powers, that you would finally shed the unwanted pounds, reclaim your health, and love yourself just as you are in this and all future moments?
I know from your emails and contact that a lot of you have been searching for the truth. And I also know many of you are tired of being told “Eat this not that.” Well, the good news is that I am a part of a free online event that is going on now (and will conclude shortly) — so if you are ready to jump in and get access to being your best self without fads, shame or self-punishment, click here to take advantage of this Mindful Eating World Summit before it’s too late to participate. Repeat after me: You. Are. Amazing! In fact, you are perfect in this very moment. No matter what wonderful, life-changing goals you might have set out for yourself.
You can accomplish those goals. Trust me… You can. But you’re likely to accomplish said goals a lot faster (and while being a lot happier) if you think of yourself and speak of yourself as a friend, rather than someone you detest.
Your brain hears you. Your mind hears you. The world hears you. So let the world and, more important, yourself hear the news: You are the most incredible, most beautiful, most fabulous person ever! And yeah… A supermodel! (Believe it!)
