What’s in a name?
Have you heard about the new “MacAttack” Burger with the fried macaroni and cheese bun? According to E Online, Chicago’s Rockit Burger Bar featured this burger that hopes to top the Ramen Burger in terms of press. (And here I am, playing right into their mission. But I can’t help but wonder if this so-called MacAttack Burger should really be called a HealthAttack or HeartAttack Burger?
Yet the real question might be this: When do we, as a society, decide that enough is enough with the elaborate high fat and high calorie meals?
Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy the occasional decedent treat as much as anyone. And I even work them into my current eating plan. But I always pay attention to portion sizes. And even more important, I pay attention to ingredients.
E Online also reports on the Twilly (served at a restaurant in Chandler, Arizona) — a hot dog served in a Twinkie bun and sprinkled with Bacon Bits. Talk about insult to [potential] injury.
As I pay more attention not only to what I eat but how I feel after I eat it, I can’t help but notice that the crappier the food is, the crappier I feel (no pun intended). To say nothing of the resulting growth of my flubber when partaking in creations such as this one.
What’s your opinion in regard to the MacAttack Burger? Is it something you will ignore? Try once if you encounter an establishment that serves it? Enjoy every now and then? I’d love to get your take on what seems to becoming a trend (creating new — and fattier — “buns” for the already high-fat burger meal).
Weigh-in, won’t you? (Wink-wink!)
